Nowland Premier Soccer Academy Launches NPSA Foundation
BELLEVUE, June 2, 2015 – This Fall, Nowland Premier Soccer Academy will launch NPSA Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on empowering underserved youth in the Bellevue and surrounding areas to develop the soccer skills needed to excel at the top local level.
NPSA Foundation was created to enable kids to participate in a structured, professional soccer development program and give players of exceptional ability the platform to fulfill their potential without the financial demands of premier youth soccer being an obstacle.
NPSA Foundation will essentially be a training program that will follow the same philosophy, ideals and curriculum as Nowland Premier Soccer Academy. This program will be completely free of charge and offer the same level of coaching and quality of product associated with NPSA.
“Creating this Foundation has always been a dream of mine since I started coaching,” said Adam Nowland, the founder and Director of Coaching for NPSA, “soccer is the biggest sport in the world and the fastest growing sport in the United States. My goal is to provide all youth with equal opportunity to an academy-style training program that will help develop them not only as players but as people”.
“Growing up in Latin America every waking hour was spent playing, watching or talking about soccer. However, in the United States getting access to quality, professional level coaching can be quite expensive. We believe that the creation of NPSA Foundation is the logical next phase in our plan to help democratize access to youth soccer in Washington and make it open to anyone and everyone” said Alejandro Bethlen, NPSA Foundation Board Member.
In preparation for the anticipated Fall launch, NPSA Foundation, in conjunction with NPSA, will be holding a series of fundraisers beginning with the NPSA Club Day event on Saturday, June 27th at Islander Middle School in Mercer Island.
“The NPSA Club Day is an annual event that has always been our way of giving back to the families that have supported this club from the very beginning. Now we ask for your support again to help the NPSA Foundation provide an environment for all dedicated youth soccer players to develop their skills and passion for the game. Together Each Achieves More” said Nowland.
Founded in 2013, NPSA has grown to serve over 500 players program-wide and currently stands at 25 teams providing Mercer Island, Medina and Bellevue with a genuine premier youth soccer program. The sole purpose of NPSA is player development and making the learning process fun and enjoyable for players and families.
The coaching staff develops players in the technical, tactical, physical and psychological components of the game and teaches other important attributes such as commitment, good sportsmanship, teamwork, accountability, respect for self and others and an ability to learn from both winning and losing.
